Reconstructed Wooden Barracks

The photo shows the black wooden exterior of the reconstructed wooden barracks. On the right you can see that it was built on a slope. A staircase leads down. Next to the stairs is a tree whose leaves have turned autumnal.

The barrack is from a former forced labour camp in Nordhausen but is structurally identical to the concentration camp barracks. This reconstruction was erected in the early 1990s. Today the building serves as an exhibition and seminar space.
