Marcin Kaczor had only been in the Buchenwald Concentration Camp for a few months when he was put on the first transport to the new Dora subcamp on 28 August 1943. He was a farmhand from the village of Korytkow Duzy in the Polish voivodeship of Lublin, where he lived with his parents and his wife Rozylia before his arrest.
At Dora the 41-year-old had to perform hard labor in the tunnels. He developed tuberculosis and an intestinal infection. He was sent back to Buchenwald in early October, where he died on 5 October 1943.
His was the first death among the 107 inmates who had been sent in August to what would become the Dora subcamp.
