After the liberation. Mittelbau-Dora in the Spring 1945

The Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp was liberated on 11 April 1945.

How did the liberated in Nordhausen and the surrounding area experience this time? What did the liberators see when they arrived in the region? And how did the local population react upon to the events?

A new outdoor-exhibition is dedicated to these questions. Ten steles have been erected at various historical sites in Nordhausen and Ellrich.
